Spotify to Include Livestream Event Listings on Artist Pages

Spotify has expanded its list of partners in the livestream ticketing space, the company announced today.

Seven months after the streamer announced it had partnered with Ticketmaster and Songkick to integrate virtual event listings into the platform, it has added new partnerships with StageIt, Mandolin, NoCap and nugs.net. Livestreams hosted on those platforms will be added to listings on Spotify’s Concerts hub as well as to the “On Tour” section of artists’ profile pages; artists also have the option of setting an event as their “Artist Pick,” meaning it will appear atop their profiles.

Listings from the new partners will also be included in the company’s existing personalized virtual event recommendation emails and newly-launched push notifications, which are based on users’ locations, as well as the music they like and the artists they follow.

Unlike Ticketmaster and Songkick, clicking on a virtual event listed by one of the four new partners on Spotify will take users directly to the livestream, rather than having to navigate to the partner’s website first – in effect removing a step in the process.

To get an event listed, artist teams must work with Spotify’s ticketing partners; virtual events cannot be listed with Spotify directly.

Spotify has been listing live events since 2015, when it signed a partnership with Songkick to provide location-based concert recommendations. Over the years, it has added partners including Ticketmaster, Songkick, Resident Advisor, Eventbrite, AXS, See Tickets and eplus (Japan only) for in-person event listings.
