Alyssa Slaimen

Alyssa Slaimen is a seasoned attorney and policy strategist with deep knowledge of the federal legislative landscape. Alyssa previously served as Senior Counsel to Senator Peter Welch where she led the Senator’s portfolio on intellectual property, technology, and artificial intelligence. She played a leading role in drafting legislation focused on the use of copyrighted works in the training of generative AI models which is currently before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Prior to working in the United States Senate, Alyssa served as Senior Legal Counsel to the President of the Republic of Palau where she managed all of the legal and policy work for the Executive Branch which included drafting legislation, bilateral international negotiations, and developing partnerships with international organizations such as the United Nations, Asian Development Bank, and the International Monetary Fund. She holds her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and a B.A. from Vermont State University.
