1. Now Playing: New Consumer Profile Resource

DIMA has released a new 2024 Consumer Profile in collaboration with MusicWatch, which we aim to update each year to be a useful resource with key demographic information and background on consumers across streaming, downloads, and physical product. It outlines consumer demographics showing, for instance, hip-hop fans favor streaming, whereas classical rock fans favor CDs. Keep an eye out for our upcoming Annual Report, which will dive deeper into music consumer trends and habits!

2. Tune In: Sally Rose Larson Named to the Billboard Women in Music List

DIMA is incredibly proud of Sally Rose Larson, our SVP, Government and External Affairs, for being named to the 2025 Billboard Women in Music List.

“Sally Rose has earned a rare reputation in Washington, D.C. for being one of the most formidable lobbyists and one of the nicest people to know. She played a pivotal role in the Music Modernization Act in 2018 and since then has been central to the development of DIMA as the voice of music streaming,” said DIMA President and CEO, Graham Davies. “On behalf of everyone at DIMA, we are thrilled to see Sally Rose join the Billboard Women in Music List and get the recognition she deserves.”

3. In Action: DIMA Highlights Unfair Trade Practices in Canada and Turkey in Comments Before the Office of the US Trade Representative

This month, DIMA submitted comments regarding unfair and non-reciprocal foreign trade practices in response to the Office of the United States Trade Representative’s request for public comments. These comments underscored the positive economic impact of streaming and expressed concern with trade partners imposing barriers to innovation that make it harder for U.S. companies to conduct business.
