Following the Outcome of the MLC v Spotify Litigation, Streaming Services Call for Industry Engagement

WASHINGTON, January 31, 2025 – Today, Graham Davies, President and CEO of DIMA responded to the decision by the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, on January 29th 2025, to dismiss, with prejudice, the case brought by the MLC against Spotify.

He said: “We welcome the dismissal of this case and the direction it gives for unambiguous interpretation of the regulations. We look forward to working closely with the rights holder community to explore consensus instead of litigation.”
