DiMA Congratulates Class of 2022 Inductees into the National Recording Registry

Association For Major Streaming Services Celebrates the Enshrinement of 25 New Recordings into National History

WASHINGTON, D.C. April 13, 2022 —  Digital Media Association (“DiMA”) President and CEO Garrett Levin today released the following statement congratulating the 2022 Inductees into the National Recording Registry:

“DiMA and its member companies congratulate the artists, songwriters and composers of the Class of 2022 Inductees into the National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress. The Class of 2022 demonstrates the diverse and historic range of recorded music the National Recording Registry is honoring, including “Livin’ La Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin, “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole, “Walking the Floor Over You” by Ernest Tubb and albums Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) by Wu-Tang Clan, Songs in A Minor by Alicia Keys, and Nick of Time by Bonnie Raitt. These recordings have stood the test of time, and today they take an enduring place among the treasures of American recording history. We applaud their selection and congratulate each inductee on this unique recognition. We also encourage all music fans to discover and rediscover these recordings on their favorite streaming service.”

As a member of the National Recording Preservation Board, DiMA is proud to provide a playlist of the music inducted in the Class of 2022 available on each DiMA member’s service. As part of celebrating this year’s inductees, Levin today posted a blog on how streaming services promote discovery and rediscovery of classic music including this year’s inductees.
