July 13, 2026 | Press Releases

Slaimen will continue DIMA’s engagement with legislators and regulators in the U.S. and key international markets, bringing direct Senate experience to the association’s policy work.

WASHINGTON, DC – Digital Media Association (DIMA), the trade association representing the leading music streaming services including Amazon, Apple Music, Feed.fm, Pandora, Qobuz, Spotify, TIDAL and YouTube, today announced the appointment of Alyssa Slaimen as Vice President, Government & External Affairs.

Slaimen joins from the office of Senator Peter Welch (D-VT), where she led the Senator’s portfolio on intellectual property and artificial intelligence. Her work included legislation currently before the US Senate Judiciary Committee, on the use of copyrighted works in training generative AI models. She holds a J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and a B.A. from Vermont State University.

The appointment comes as DIMA navigates a growing range of legislative and regulatory challenges across its key markets. Streaming is central to the success of the music industry and continues to demonstrate remarkable strength, with global subscriber numbers reaching 921 million in 2025¹ and streaming accounts for nearly 70% ($22 billion) of global recorded music revenues².

Graham Davies, President and CEO of DIMA commented: “As DIMA’s reach and impact continue to grow, Alyssa brings direct legislative experience that our policy work demands. She joins at a moment when rules being written around AI, copyright and streaming will shape the music industry for years to come, and we are delighted to welcome her to the team.”

Alyssa Slaimen said: “DIMA’s members have transformed the music industry by changing the way people experience music, discover new artists, and how creators connect with their fans. DIMA is a powerful advocate in showing how streaming plays a vital role in the industry and I am excited to use my legislative experience to ensure streaming services are able to continue to innovate, grow, and benefit the music ecosystem as a whole.”
