I am writing related to the Trade Subcommittee’s hearing on “Maintaining American Innovation and Technology Leadership,” to share DIMA’s perspective for the record. As the trade association representing the world’s leading music streaming services, we are grateful for your focus on ensuring robust digital trade frameworks that encourage cross-border cooperation and strengthen American economic and technology leadership.

DIMA’s members – Amazon, Apple Music, Feed.fm, Pandora, Spotify, and YouTube – are the leading source of recorded music revenue in the United States and in much of the world. DIMA’s members are responsible for approximately 84% of recorded music revenues in the United States, with music streaming generating more than $14 billion for the U.S. recorded music industry in 2024.
