A Message from our CEO
Last week’s Latin American Music Awards come at a celebratory moment. Artists like Bad Bunny, Karol G and J Balvin are achieving meteoric success, both in the U.S. and around the world, while singers with Latin roots like Selena Gomez are releasing Spanish-language albums. This wasn’t always the case.
In the past, breaking through was uncommon and usually required singing in English. What’s changed: streaming. Perhaps more so than any category of music, Latin artists have harnessed the connectivity and storytelling enabled by streaming platforms and their billions of users. The traditional barriers of borders or limited shelf space are gone. We congratulate the show’s winners and celebrate the expression that rings truer than ever: music is universal.
